Location
Spanning the Afon Teifi at the S end of Bridge Street, Llandysul.
History
Built in 1837 by James Hughes, Cardiganshire county surveyor.
Exterior
A single-span rubble-stone bridge with tooled dressings. The segmental arch has voussoirs, above which is a projecting band below the parapet. It is framed by shallow stepped pilasters. The abutments each have a circular opening (c.f. the old bridge at Pontypridd, Glamorgan). The coped parapet has saddleback copings to the pilasters. On the R (Ceredigion) bank the abutment curves out on the upstream side and terminates in a square gate pier on the downstream side.
Reason for designation
Listed as a well-detailed C19 road bridge with strong character.
