Situated on street line, immediately W and attached to Black Lion Hotel.
History
Earlier C19, possibly rebuilt 1835 along with the Black lion Hotel to the left.
Exterior
House and shop, stucco with slate roofs and stone W end stack. Two storey, 2-window range projecting bargeboarded gable to right, the design balancing (but not matching) E wing of Black Lion Hotel. Gable has fretted bargeboards and first floor 4-12-4 pane tripartite sash in arched recess, similar to Black Lion Hotel. Bay to left has first floor 12-pane sash and deep eaves. Ground floor modern shopfront across both bays, projected from left side and flush with gable front.
Reason for designation
Listed for its special architectural interest as a building with strong early C19 character and for balancing the overall composition of the Black Lion. Included for group value with Black Lion Hotel.
