Early C19. Marked on Wood's 1834 map of Cardigan as owned by A A Gower Esq, presumably, therefore, the town house of the Gowers of Castle Malgwyn.  

Exterior
House, roughcast with slate roof and brick end stacks. Three-storey 5-window range with paired brackets to eaves cornice. Painted slate sills. Three second floor 6-pane sashes, 5 first floor plate glass sashes and ground floor windows with sills near ground level, 2 9-pane sashes to left, 2 longer 12-pane sashes to right and centre C20 door. West end wall has one similar first floor window and similar second floor window. East end wall has north east corner stack. Tall roughcast north west rear wing with brick end stack.
