Location
Near the junction with Market Street, situated in terraced row, a three-storey pair with No 5.
History
Terraced house front of similar scale to No 5 but with later C19 detail, possibly on earlier core. Occupied by J.H. Rogers 1926.
Exterior
Terraced house, painted stucco with slate close-eaved roof and brick right end stack. Three storeys, one-window range with door to left. No 3 had a tiny dentil eaves cornice in 1974. Central canted two-storey bay-window with plate glass sashes and moulded top cornice, and plate glass sash above on second floor. Doorway to left has renewed six-panel door in flush panelled reveals, and overlight in doorcase with plain wooden pilasters, frieze and moulded cornice.

Reason for designation
Included for its special interest as a three-storey terraced house of group value in Hill Street.
