History
Late C18 or early C19 terraced house, part of row of five two-bay houses Nos 77-87 marked on 1888 O.S. as Albion Terrace. Facade altered in late C19. At one time this house was No 37, occupied by Harold Rees in 1926. Since 1974 the oriel glazing has been changed, formerly there were pilasters between the lights and the door has been replaced, formerly there was a fanlight with radiating glazing pattern.  

Exterior
Terraced house, painted stucco with slate close-eaved roof and left end stack. Three storeys, two-window range, offset to left. Two large late C19 plate glass sashes to top floor, a large late C19 square oriel to first floor left of centre with modillion cornice and three large lights to front with top lights. Single lights with top lights to sides. Ground floor has door to right and C20 cross-window to left, neither aligned with openings above. Door has stucco vermiculated keystone over recessed C20 6-panel door with overlight.  

Interior
Interior not inspected. Victorian staircase with turned newels and acorn finials, and turned balusters shown in 1988 account.  

Reason for designation
Included for its special architectural interest as part of the late Georgian terrace Nos 77-87 Hill Street.
