History
K6 type square, red kiosk of cast iron construction to the standard design of Sir Giles Gilbert Scott. Design introduced by GPO in 1936, this example pre 1953 with George VI crown in lunettes. Made by W Macfarlane and Co Ltd, Saracen Foundry, Glasgow.
Exterior
Domed roof with four lunettes over lettered glazed panels. Two glazed sides and matching door with raised surrounds, side-bar horizontal glazing panels and timber stiles to door. Blank rear with makers plaque. Moulded plinth.
Reason for designation
Included for location in historic seaport area of Newport and close to other listed items.
