Pair of navigation lights which aided entry to dock basin. South lamp cast-iron with fluted plinth in form of bound bundle of sticks and tulip-like base to tapering shaft, and cross bar. Shaft supports ship's lamp with red lens facing S.
North lamp identical except raised c. 60cm on extra plinth so that craft in the bay could align lamps to give course for dock.
Reason for designation
Unusual maritime structure and for group value.
