Carries the by-road from the B4398 over the Montgomeryshire Canal towards Clawdd-Coch; crosses between upper and lower sets of locks. Lock Keeper's Cottage abuts roadway on W side.
History
Dates from the opening of this section of the Montgomeryshire Canal in 1797.
Exterior
Cemented red brick (some repairs), chamfered stone cappings. Single stilted arch with chamfered brick archrings. Ramped and outward curving abutments ending in brick piers, humped roadway. Stonework towpath edge.
Reason for designation
Group value with other canal structures in exceptional location at Carreghofa Locks.
