Situated on boundary of Dinas and Newport communities, below modern road embankment by Felin Werndew.
History
1829 road bridge over Nant Fforest, bypassed by modern road embankment.
Exterior
Rubble stone with semi-circular single arch, cut-stone voussoirs, plinth and flat rubble stone parapets with rounded coping. North parapet now abuts modern road embankment and is partly destroyed.
Over bridge is plaque ‘1829 D Evans’, possibly relating to David Evans, architect of Fishguard and Cardigan.
Reason for designation
A well-built example of a small road bridge of early C19.
