Little Gwernfythen Farmhouse
Location
Isolated position 2km north of Clyro village, on the lower slopes of Clyro hill.
Exterior
Mid C19. Two storey, painted rubble stone farmhouse. Slate roof to the front, and stone-tile and corrugated roof to rear; boarded eaves. Main block of three bays with central six-panel door, tripartite sash windows under stone lintels, stone cills. To west is small range set back with external stone steps leading to boarded loft door (back kitchen/granary). Four squared rubble ridge stacks with oversailing courses. To rear of north east end is hipped two storey dairy wing with asbestos roof and further small-pane sash windows.
Interior
Large flagstone floored dairy with two salting slabs. Slender staircase arch at foot of enclosed oak stairs, wide oak boards to upper floors.
Reason for designation
Listed as a well-preserved late-Georgian farmhouse.
