Situated at the east end of Park Street adjacent to the RuabonGates.
History
Former lodge relating to the Ruabon gates to the Wynnstay estate, probably erected in the earlier C19 as part of the estate development on Park Street.
Exterior
2-storey. Roughly coursed rubble with dressed stone quoins, hipped slate roof with octagonal stone chimney, 2-unit plan. Off-centre entrance with a stone canopy, narrow window to the right and a window to the left with a hoodmould. Upper floor window has restored hoodmould. Left hand return has windows with hoodmoulds, later extension to this side and to the rear.
Interior
2-unit, beams have been exposed in some rooms.
Reason for designation
Listed as an earlier C19 lodge, part of an important group of buildings on Park Street, and for historical associations with the Wynnstay Estate.
Group value with neighbouring buildings on Park Street.
