Full Report for Listed Buildings

The list description is not intended to be a complete inventory of what is listed: it is principally intended to aid identification. By law, the definition of a listed building includes the entire building (i) and any structure or object that is fixed to the said building and ancillary to it and (ii) any other structure or object that forms part of the land and has done so since before 1 July 1948, and was within the curtilage of the building, and ancillary to it, on the date on which said building was first included in the list, or on 1 January 1969, whichever was later.

The L gable, facing the inclined lane, has a further door to the L with, to the R, 2 windows to the ground floor and a modern window to the first floor. The continuous chapel section has a tall recessed and boarded door to the L with plain light above. To the R two tall 8-pane sash windows with 2 similar windows to the R gable; this with deep verges and plain bargeboards.

Interior
The interiors were not accessible at the time of inspection (January 1995).

Reason for designation
Included as an interesting and relatively complete example of a C19 Methodist house-and-chapel unit, in interesting juxtaposition with St. Machreth's church and churchyard immediately opposite. Group value with the associated stable block and graveyard.
