One of a group of cottages probably built in C18 by London Lead Company, said to be the first to use coal to smelt lead, and producer of much of the silver for English coinage in the early C18. Cottage. One storey plus attic. Brick, painted, old slate roof Front wall runs up as central shouldered chimney. Door to R with small window to R, blocked camber-headed window to L. Lean-to to L with door and window. Lean-to to R with door; small loft window in R gable apex (this gable is rendered). Listed as rare example of industrial workers' cottage from this period. Group value with other nearby cottages and Gadlys Woods Farm.
