At the SE entrance to Acton Park, close to the junctions with Dean and Borras Roads.
History
Built as a lodge to Acton Park, and dated 1876.
Exterior
Built in a Neo-vernacular style, strongly influenced by John Douglas of Chester, but the architect is not known. Roughly coursed and squared rubble to lower storey, half timbered above, with red plain tiled hipped roof. Entrance in centre of elevation away from street, with flanking casement windows. Gabled return has jettied upper storey, and 4-light casement window with small panes one each floor, the upper window beneath gabled dormer. Similar windows to right of street elevation. Clustered brick axial and end wall stacks with corbelled caps. Single storeyed service wing with hipped roof built out from far gable.
Reason for designation
Listed as a good example of neo-vernacular estate architecture.
