History
The origin of the column, now divided into two separate sections, is not known; it probably came from Egypt as a spoil from a grand tour, and circulated in various aristocratic locations before arriving in the present garden.  

Exterior
Two halves of a giant porphry column, c62cm in diameter and totalling approximately 4m high, with entasis and neck fillet, set inelegantly in the two W quadrants of the garden, surrounded by a small circular limestone kerb.

Included for their historic interest and as part of the Venetian garden at the Grade I Kinmel.
