Located in the farmyard of Llan Idan farm, set centrally in the farm range, abutted to the N by the granary-cartshed, and to the S by a cowhouse-stable range.

History
Probably built late C17 or early C18, as the corn barn for Llanidan (and reputedly a Tithe Barn). A cartshed-granary was added to the N gable end, probably in the C18, and a cow-house-stable range added to the S gable end in the C19, forming a linear range.
Exterior
Five bay corn barn with tall central opposed doors with two levels of internally splayed slits vents, 4 either side of door. Coursed rubble walls with gritstone voussoirs to elliptical arches over doors, eaves with continuous quarter-round corbelling, with a single row of dove-holes running underneath. Pitched roof of profiled asbestos sheeting. Owl-hole over door. Abutting the N side of the barn is a two storey, 4 bay cartshed-granary, with 2 cart bays in the right (N) gable end (one now blocked). Coursed rubble walls, with segmental brick arches with slightly projecting moulding to openings in gable end. Pitched roof of profiled asbestos. Five ventilation slits to both lateral walls on ground floor. Single door to left (S) front. Access to granary loft via stone staircase to front; 3 windows to either side of lateral wall. Central full-height door to gable end (loft) flanked by windows.
Reason for designation
Listed as a good agricultural group including a late C17 or early C18 Corn Barn of exceptional quality.
