History
Bier House for storage of coffin-carrying biers, probably C19. Not marked on 1844 Tithe Map, though such structures are not always marked.
Exterior
Bier-house, rubble stone with low-pitched slate close-eaved roof. S end wall to churchyard has cambered timber lintel over boarded double doors. Windowless walls, earth embanked on W. On E side is attached one of pair of stone gatepiers of c1870 churchyard entry. Pair of iron gates with scrollwork and dog-bars.
Reason for designation
Included for group value with the parish church, and as a rare survivor of such a structure.
