Location
Situated in the centre of Edern on the N side of the B4417, some 50m S of Pont Edern.
History
C18 cottage, the 1839 Edern Tithe Map shows it as being owned by the Cefn Amwlch estate and occupied by Thomas Hughes.
Exterior
One of several cottages in a row, whitewashed rubble stone with roof of small slates. Single stack to left is shared with adjoining cottage which has a higher roofline; that to right has lower roofline. Two-storey, two-window front offset to right, small square 16-pane hornless sashes, the upper windows breaking eaves under gabled half dormers. Two small single rooflights, one between dormers and one to left. Plain black painted boarded door and black painted shutters to ground floor.
Reason for designation
Included as a well preserved example of an C18 cottage of the region, important for its village setting.
