Situated by entry to front yard of Bwlch-y-garreg, just W of Rhiw crossroads.
History
Pigsty added to smallholding at Bwlch-y-garreg reputedly c1870 when the house at Rhiwlas was being built for the Rowlands family by the Nanhoron estate.
Exterior
Pigsty, rubble stone with slate roof, of longer pitch to the front. Low door to right and walled yard with well-built low walls coped in slabs. Entry to E with long feed-chute between entry and pigsty corner, the feed-chute with long slab lintel and brick sill.
Reason for designation
Included for group value with the house and goose-shelter at Bwlch-y-garreg, all parts of a unusually complete small cottage farm unit of a type characteristic of the region.
