Maes Merddyn farm lies on moorland in the NW part of the community, and is reached by a farm road off the Nebo Road N of Pentrefoelas.

History
The structure is probably of the early C19, when this remote area of the upper Cadnant was opened up to cultivation.
Exterior
Rubble dry-built stone retaining wall in front of the farmhouse, containing four emplacements for bee boles at approximately 1m high, and below, 3 open fronted nesting boxes, probably for fowls.
Reason for designation
Included for special historic interest as a rare and well-preserved combination of bee boles and nest boxes.
