Reason for designation
Listed as a pair of mid C19 vernacular village houses retaining original character and forming part of a group at the centre of the village.
Group Description
Bron-y-Graig and Ty Capel
Mid C19 2-storey terrace of 2 cottages; of rubble construction with continuous slate roof and plain end and central chimneys. The NE cottage (Bron-y-Graig) has an entrance with boarded door to the R, with plain rectangular fan; to the L of this is a 12-pane C19 recessed sash window with projecting sill and slate lintel. The SE cottage (Ty Capel) has a modern central door with similar flanking windows; 2 further sashes to each unit on the first floor, as before. The rear has similar original windows, the SE cottage with a modern glazed door. The NE unit has a storeyed C20 bathroom addition to the rear.
