Located on the N side of the old road from Portmadoc to Caernarfon and W of the track leading to Tyddyn Madyn.
History
Erected c1802-1808 following the turnpike acts for Caernarfonshire, for the turnpike trust controlling the road in this sector.
Exterior
A square slab of local slate with the upper corners chamfered, set in the verge of the road, and inscribed CARNARVON 15 MILES / PENYGROES 8 5/8 / LLANLLYFNI 8 / TREMADOG 4.
Reason for designation
Included as the only surviving well preserved milestone along this road in the community; an important survival from the turnpike period.
