Wall to north, west and south of Derwydd Mansion, bordering the road. Entrances at west and south.
History
Probably late C19, contemporary with the enlargement of the house c1888.
Exterior
A fine freestanding wall mostly 3m in height, with a coping of upright stones slightly crenellated. Uncoursed random rubble, very well laid. The wall starts near the corner of the north walled garden, turns south at the roadside, and follows the roadside to a short distance east of the east cottage.
At both entrances the wall turns inward to meet gatepiers. The piers are in ashlar with single stone copings on which are carved little crenellations to match the wall copings.
Reason for designation
Good boundary walls to a house of gentry status, listed also for group value with Derwydd Mansion.
