To S of Ty Mawr, approached by small bridge over Nant Aberthin.
History
Early C17, contemporary with house, but re-using medieval dressed stone perhaps robbed from one of the nearby castles.
Exterior
Rectangular 2-storey gatehouse with gables to N & S. Rubble with dressed quoins in Sutton stone; slate roof. Gables have copings and ball-finials; sundial with inscription "DVM SPECTAS FUGIO". Two centred arched doorway with door (C17?) of studded planks with strap hinges. North doorway with Tudor arch. Access to pigeon loft over; 40 nesting holes. West wall of gatehouse has added one-storey bakehouse, matching materials, chimney to L.
In front of gatehouse, small stone bridge over nant Aberthin.
Interior
Fireplace and oven beleived to remain in to interior.
