History
Possibly contemporary with Big House Farmhouse of c1700, to the farmyard entrance of which it is adjacent. Marked as 'pound' on the 1877 map.
Exterior
A small animal pound in coursed axe-dressed local limestone, approximately oval in plan with a gateway at the north end. The walls of the pound are about 1½m. high. Simple iron gate.
Reason for designation
Included as a rare and well preserved village pound for the retention of stray animals.
