Full Report for Listed Buildings

The list description is not intended to be a complete inventory of what is listed: it is principally intended to aid identification. By law, the definition of a listed building includes the entire building (i) and any structure or object that is fixed to the said building and ancillary to it and (ii) any other structure or object that forms part of the land and has done so since before 1 July 1948, and was within the curtilage of the building, and ancillary to it, on the date on which said building was first included in the list, or on 1 January 1969, whichever was later.

History
A roadside milestone with raised lettering on a cast-iron plate, the style suggesting early C19 date. The stone stands on the west side of the former line of the road, but has been turned 180 degrees to face the new road, on the east side of which it is now found (not as shown on the current Ordnance Survey).

Exterior
A block of local limestone about 0.4 m wide and 0.2 m deep, standing about 0.6 m high. The top is rounded and the front is flat. It carries a cast-iron plate with the words 'CORWEN / 7 M / RUTHIN / 5 M'.

Interior

Reason for designation
Listed as a well-preserved milestone complete with its cast-iron plate.
