History
Probably 1850's, contemporary with rebuilding of Bryn-y-Neuadd Hall by John Platt from 1857.
Exterior
Cast-iron fountain in Italian Renaissance style. On pale limestone base set in circular basin (c13 metres diameter) with wall in grey limestone. Polygonal stepped lower plinth with C15 style decoration in panels is surrounded by 4 dolphin-riding cherubs blowing horns. Polygonal lower bowl with floral decoration to rim, and pendant bosses. Central plinth with lion-head decoration supports smaller circular bowl surmounted by cherub-like figure holding garland from which water issued.
