History
The building has been a hotel since at least 1869.
Exterior
Early C19 Georgian, 3 storey, 4 window front. Flemish bond brick with dark headers. Gently pitched slate roof, simply moulded stone eaves cornice, brick end stacks, two set on rear pitch.
Shallow upper sash to 12 pane 2nd floor windows, 16 pane 1st floor windows. Painted stone sills and lintels. Asymmetric ground floor with round arched doorway offset to right. Lead cames divide fanlight into segments over modern door. Doorway flanked on right by modern window on left by 3 cross windows with later rectangular lead cames, 2 3-lights flanking a 2 light.
Various later accretions to rear elevation.
