Location
Situated some 700m NNE of Llanengan, some 200m up lane running W from the road to Abersoch to Craigfryn farm.
History
Remains of a large stone windmill tower, probably C19, not marked on Llanengan Tithe Map 1839.
Exterior
Circular windmill tower, rubble stone, walls tapering somewhat upwards. Roofless and walls partially collapsed. Tall and wide N doorway has stone lintel above, large part-blocked S window at upper level, small window with stone lintel to NE lower level. Walls rise now only up to 5m approximately with beam slot for upper floor, which remains more substantially intact to S.
Reason for designation
A prominent landmark, and one of the few surviving windmill towers in the region.
