History
Probably built in 1832, the date on the adjoining No 6, and the end of a short terrace of 3 houses roofed under the same range.
Exterior
A 2-storey 3-window terraced house of pebble-dashed front, slate roof on overhanging eaves, with added skylight, shared stone stack to the L and added brick stack to the R. Openings have smooth-rendered surrounds with shallow pediments. The central entrance has a half-glazed panel door beneath a Gothic arcaded overlight. To its R is an enlarged 3-light small-pane window. To its L is an original 2-light window with cavetto wooden mullion and small-pane sashes with Gothic glazing bars. The upper storey has 3 similar 2-light windows.
Reason for designation
Listed for its special architectural interest as an early C19 terraced house retaining definite original character and detail, and for its contribution with other buildings in Corbet Square, Red Lion Street and Maengwyn Street, to the historical integrity of the old town centre.
