Prominently located at the NE edge of the village; set against a hillslope and both raised up and set back from the main village street behind short gardens with rubble revetments.
Exterior
A contemporary or near-contemporary single-storey gabled extension adjoins to R (SW). Of rubble and slate construction with recessed, boarded door to side; this has a later rubble extension to front with catslide corrugated iron roof and boarded doors to cart/garage entrance.
Reason for designation
Included for group value with other listed items in Garreg, as a distinctive terrace in this well-preserved estate village, associated with Clough Williams Ellis.
Group Description
Nos 1-7 Cyffin Terrace
Long late C19 terrace of seven two-window cottages; of rubble construction under a continuous renewed slate roof; plain shared end chimneys. Each unit has a boarded door (modern replacement) to the R with recessed sash windows, 12-pane to the ground and 9-pane to the first floor; these are also modern replacements. Each also has a modern extension to the rear.
