Telephone call-box of K6 type designed in 1936 for the GPO by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, this one made before 1953. Makers mark of McDowall Stevens & Co Ltd of London and Falkirk.
Exterior
Telephone call-box, red-painted cast-iron with shallow dome of Soaneian type with embossed George VI crowns in lunettes over glazed panels marked ''''Telephone''''. Sides and timber door with glazing of 8 horizontal panes with marginal panes, in raised overall surrounds. Blank rear with makers plate.
