Situated by the River Tawe at SW end of bridge to Lamb & Flag Cottages from Rheolau Arms Inn.

History
Pound for stray animals removed from common land, probably early to mid C19.
Exterior
Pound, whitewashed rubble stone, circular enclosure with walls of about 2m with flagstone coping and entrance doorway to lane with stone voussoirs. A short length of wall with sloping coping runs right from doorway to narrow gap between the pound and the river. There is a low escape hole to this area of ground on the right side of the pound, with projecting stone lintel.
Reason for designation
Included as a well-built C19 animal pound and for group value with adjacent listed buildings.
