Early C18 former town house retaining much historic character on important site opposite St Mary's Church. Group Value with the church, other listed buildings in High Street Inferior, and also with buildings in Lion Street to rear.

Shop with accommodation over. Two storeys plus attic. Stuccoed front. Deep slate hipped roof with projecting eaves with boarded soffit and with extension (L) to large brick chimney stack. Three hipped dormers with slate roofs and casement glazing. On first floor, five 12-pane hornless sash windows in moulded architraves. On ground floor, a C20 shopfront in classsical style; 5 bays with central doorway, and 2 display windows to each side, articulated by half columns supporting fascia board and cornice.
Rear elevation with two hipped dormers and with three sash windows with glazing bars on first floor.
