History
C19 re-front with late C19 details to C17 town house. Birthplace of the first woman to qualify as a doctor in Wales.  

Exterior
Shop with accommodation over. Stucco front, slate roof. Narrow paired sash windows in architraves to centre on both first and second floors; pair on first floor with rounded heads. C20 plate glass shop front on ground floor. Rear gabled facade to Lion Street, with mostly C19 and later windows; narrow staircase window on first floor.  

Interior
The turning stair, carpeted and with modern detailing is the "very fine" newel stair referred to in 1976 list description, but with newel post boxed. There are also concealed ovolo moulded beams.  

Reason for designation
Building with C17 origins and mid-C19 typical character on important site in historic centre of Brecon. Group Value with adjacent listed buildings.
