Set into a continuous row of frontages with short terrace to right.
Exterior
Prominent classical pair, contemporary with the Town Hall, with early to mid C19 3-storey, 2-window roughcast fronts, outer bays pedimented; cement render and one brick chimney stack. Open pediment to No 52, closed to No 53 with Ionic and plain pilasters. Deeply set sash windows, except to 2nd floor of No 53 which has fixed glazed windows. 12-pane sashes to centre 1st floor flanked by 5-light sashes, replaced frames to No 53. Advanced fascia and dentilled cornice to shop front of No 52; splayed entrance to centre with ornamental inner doorway.
Modern shop front to No 53. Segmental headed window and half-glazed door to ground floor centre.
