History
Probably c1880 and by John Prichard. It is very similar in character to the Old Police Station in Bridge Street (qv).

Right hand entrance. Rendered gable wall.  

Interior
Interior not inspected at resurvey.  

Reason for designation
Included as a largely unaltered house by John Prichard and for its group value with the other listed buildings around The Cathedral Green.  

Group Description
Nos. 1&3 The Cathedral Green Pair of houses built in coursed rock faced greenstone with Welsh slate roof, the return gable wall is rendered. Two storeys and attic, each house of two bays with a narrow entrance bay on the outside of the pair and a wider bay in the centre for the principal rooms. Double depth plan with rear service wing. Plain panelled door with paired light over. Three light mullion-and-transom ground floor window. Above is a 2-light window, with a single one over the doors. All windows are plate glass sashes. Each house has an eaves dormer with paired window and hipped roof, large brick central stack. Rear elevation not seen.
