4-8 Lower Canal Road, Newtown
2 storey, asymmetric terrace. Nos 4, 5 and 8, 1 window wide. Symmetric 2 window fronts to Nos 6 and 7. English garden wall bond brick; painted to front. Gently pitched slate roof. Saw toothed eaves cornice. Brick stacks. 2 light casements below eaves to 1st floor windows. Broader 2 light small paned casement windows to gound floor. Cambered header arches, plain reveals. Later C19 timber porches, gabled fishscale slate roofs, bargeboards and finials. panelled sides. Later brick plinths to Nos 5, 7 and 8. C19 doors to Nos 4 and 5. Upper portion of end elevations slate hung. Cross wing to rear of No 5. Contemporary but modern windows; slate hung on W. Yard enclosing wash-house and latrines to rear of No 4.
