History
Memorial to the fallen of the First World War, white marble statue of a soldier of a type common through S Wales, cf Trelewis, erected c1920, on granite pedestal, the centrepiece of a small park.
Exterior
War Memorial, white marble statue of soldier with reversed gun on pedestal of grey granite with moulded plinth, coved cornice and tapering shaft inscribed with names on all 4 sides. The front has additionally raised shaped plaque with ribbon scroll over commemorative inscription. Memorial is set on 4 steps with chamfered leading edges.
Reason for designation
Included as a sculptural war memorial of special historical interest.
