On the SE side of Pontrhydyrun Baptist Church, near the main entrance.
History
War memorial unveiled on 13/7/1922, at a cost of £100 in memory of the members of the congregation killed in the Great War.
Exterior
War memorial, ashlar, classical tall pedestal memorial. Big square shaft with inscriptions, splayed out towards base with chamfered angles, the chamfers run out at base. Top frieze with chamfered corners under square egg-and-dart-moulded corniced cap carrying carved short Celtic cross. Shaft stands on steeply chamfered base on plinth with coved top moulding.
Reason for designation
Included as a distinctive pedestal war memorial of group value with the Baptist Church.
