Reason for designation
One of a pair of houses which have preserved something of their formal early Victorian or Regency character notwithstanding alterations; also listed for group value as part of a group including Minafon, Maesgwyn, Enson House and Haulfre.
Group Description
Enson House and Hanmer House
A pair of two-storey double-fronted houses constituting a four-window range in local brown shaley stone with small-slate roof (that of Enson House restored) and three yellow-brick chimneys, that at centre shared. The house at left (Hanmer House) retains its original lower 16-pane hornless sash windows. The window openings, including those of the upper storey, are segmentally arched and have stone sills.
Iron railings at front on a low stone wall, with stone gate-piers.
