Location
Carrying the B4396 over the Afon Iwrch about 2 km south-east of the village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant.
History
Probably a turnpike bridge of the late C18. Marked on the Tithe Map (1842).
Exterior
A bridge in local uncoursed quasi-rubble masonry, with a single segmental stone arch of about 10 m.
The carriageway is about 6 m wide with parapets about 1 m in height. The parapets are turned slightly out at each of the four ends and terminate in square block copings. At the middle of the coping at each side is a section with weathered and slightly overhanging copings, otherwise the bridge is severely free of all decorative features.
Reason for designation
A fine late vernacular bridge.
