History
Icehouse probably early C19 built for John Jones for whom Ystrad was rebuilt c1800-10, but possibly earlier. The house has mostly been demolished 2002, to be rebuilt in replica as flats.  

Exterior
Icehouse, built into hillside with steps down to damaged brick-arched low door. Rendered segmental arched low tunnel to second door into circular dome-roofed brick ice-chamber.  

Interior
Circular stone interior with fine stone domed roof.  

Reason for designation
Included for special interest as a well-preserved Georgian ice-house.
