History
Total immersion baptistery of 1865-7, but the spring possibly a holy well, with no recorded tradition. Eight baptisms recorded: 4 in 1867, one each in 1894, 1896, 1904 and 1912.
Restored heavily in 1986-7 by Preseli Pembrokeshire District Council.
Exterior
Total immersion baptistery, rendered pool some 2.6m by 1m and 1m deep with steps down on E side from slate paved surround. Rubble stone walls to square enclosure, with steps down at S ends of E and W walls, low wall on S side with opening at W end and steps down with outlet channel beneath.
Reason for designation
Included for its special historic interest and for group value with Burton church.
