Listed as a Georgian fronted pair of houses, an integral part of this important S range. Group value with other listed buildings in the lower part of New and Old Market Streets.
Group Description
Nos.43 & 45 Old Market Street
Pair of houses with late Georgian frontages, attached at each side, set back a little at left but sharing the same building and ridge line as number 47 to right. Rendered with scored roughcast and painted; quite a steep-pitched slate roof with brick end stacks. Each house has a 2-window range of 16-pane sashes, slighly unequally spaced, probably indicating an earlier origin. Ground floor tripartite window to number 45, shallow multi-pane bay to number 43. Shared C20 hipped roof porch at centre. Front kerb with railings with arrowhead and urn finials; gate to number 45 original with diamond bracing, replaced to number 43.
