Full Report for Listed Buildings

The list description is not intended to be a complete inventory of what is listed: it is principally intended to aid identification. By law, the definition of a listed building includes the entire building (i) and any structure or object that is fixed to the said building and ancillary to it and (ii) any other structure or object that forms part of the land and has done so since before 1 July 1948, and was within the curtilage of the building, and ancillary to it, on the date on which said building was first included in the list, or on 1 January 1969, whichever was later.

History
Probably early C19 agricultural range, contemporary with the adjacent farmhouse at Rhosigor and the other associated agricultural buildings; some C20 alterations.

Exterior
Linear agricultural range aligned roughly N-S; comprising 4-unit pigsty range to S with single storey brewhouse or 'pig-kitchen' at N end. Built of roughly coursed, mortared, rubble masonry, now with roofs of profiled asbestos sheeting. The walls of each pigsty have flat stone copings and slate slab feed chutes along the front (W) wall. The brewhouse has a boarded stable door in the W gable and a small window (no longer glazed) in the N wall.

Interior
The interior was not inspected at the time of the survey.

Reason for designation
Included as an early C19 pigsty range that forms an integral part of the small farmstead group at Rhosigor.
