Location
On the northern edge of the town. Above and to the rear of Nos 25 to 33 Morris Cottages with narrow stepped yard between. Ground rises steeply to rear.
History
Early Cl9 perhaps built as weavers' cottages, possibly contemporary with the l828 terrace below.
Exterior
2-storey, rubble, l-window fronts set in reflected pairs; No 5 is whitewashed. Slate roofs and 3 chimney stacks (rendered and cut down). Nos l, 2 and 4 have 9 and l2-pane sash windows, No 3 has small pane metal frame casements, No 5 has been modernised and No 6 has 9 and 4-pane sashes below; slate lintels. Boarded doors to Nos l, 2 and 4, No 1 has a 4-pane overlight; No 3 has a 4-panel door, modern to No 5 and half-glazed to No 6.
Low rubble rear with blocked central door.
Unoccupied at time of inspection (September l989).
