History
c1800, possibly built as two pairs, with Nos. 31 and 33 being slightly the older.  

Exterior
Rendered and painted front with Welsh slate roof and red brick stacks. Double depth plan. Three storeys, one window each. Panelled doors. No.27 with architrave and hood, No.29 with broken pediment. Three windows are 6 over 6 pane sashes on the ground floor except for No.33 with 2 over 2; 3 over 6 panes on the first floor, 3 over 3 on the upper floor. Fairly low pitch roof, with hip to No.27. Tall brick stack with moulded cap on ridge between Nos.27 and 29, more massive one between Nos.31 and 33. Rear elevation not seen.

Reason for designation
Included for its special architectural interest as a c1800 house of definite character in the Monmouth town centre.
