History
House dated 1700 but with earlier origins.  

Exterior
Two storey plus attic, rendered brick with string courses (rear in red brick with corrugated cladding to upper floor), chimneys in brick and rendered brick. Entrance front faces main road (SE). Two storey gabled porch has first floor camber-headed window (casement glazing), square-headed doorway with low wooden gates, small camber-headed window to each side of porch. To L of porch, three-light casement window set at eaves. To R of porch, wall runs up as gabled dormer. At gable apex, round datestone 'DHP 1700'; camber-headed window to attic. Camber-headed window with three-light casement glazing to first floor; on ground floor, camber-headed window with three-light small pane casement glazing. No openings in R gable end; L gable end slate hung with shallow verandah (slate roof); double-leaf door (part glazed), panelled jambs to doorway. Rear has upper floor with corrugated cladding; roof sweeps down to L; to R, wall runs up as gable (large chimney to R), small attic window, square horizontal sash to R, ogee Gothick window at lower level to L of which are one square and one rectangular windows. Ground floor (pressed red brick) has camber-headed door and two camber-headed windows, and tall window to R of door.  

Interior
Ground floor room to R of porch has stop-chamfered beams and cross beams; exposed timber-framed partition with Tudor-arched door head. Room behind porch has two stop-chamfered beams and low dado of oak panelling. Exposed framing to rear wall in corridor at rear of house. Restored staircase with fretted splat balusters. Exposed timber framing on first floor with Tudor-arched doorhead.  

Reason for designation
Semi-attached later C19 kitchen to R of house not included.
