Group Description
4a and 4b Lion Yard
Two storey block in exposed stone; hipped slate roof. Facing Lion Street, a single-window bay with a 4-pane sash window on each floor. Splayed corner. Facing Lion Yard is a 2-storey, 5-window range. Mainly sash windows 3 panes wide. Upper windows with heads at eaves level; those in 3rd and 5th bays from L are square, other rectangular. Lower windows with brick segmental heads. At SW end, doorway with moulded architrave, paterae at angles and cornice; 6-panelled door with semi-circular fanlight. Plain doorway in 2nd bay.
